| An old shot from 1980, showing a typical scene of the time. 40 117 stands in the platform at Manchester Victoria, while a Class 25 waits for its next banking duty. Sadly, this station has now been totally transformed and reduced in size, the locos are both long-since scrapped and the practice of banking up Miles Platting bank has ceased. This is probably due to the lack of heavy traffic these days. |
