With Peoria & Western Railway down to one operating FP9, the Canton Cannonball has made a rare trip all the way west to meet the Keokuk Junction job out of Keokuk, at Laharpe, Illinois. With sister 1750 in the shop with a blown air compressor and leaking radiators, 1752 is paired with GP8 800 and a GP20R.
The train is stopping above Illinois Rt 9 to perform an air test.
Upon departure, the 77 car train will stall twice, requiring mechanics to replace a auxililary generator exciter switch, on this second day of 2009.
