Long Island HEP unit 619, in it's first week of service, brings up the rear of an eastbound headed to Port Jefferson in the fall of 1980. This unit, and 2 others just like it, caused quite a stir on the LIRR, as they were EMD units, and the Long Island was a longtime ALCO stronghold.
