Remarks & Notes
Student engineers were able to operate this neat little Porter 0-4-0T "The Sespe" on short runs to its namesake Sespe Creek during Santa Clara River Valley Railroad Historical Society's Railfest 2005 . A full sized passenger train to Santa Paula left Fillmore first, and then this little thing followed it out, down the track, with its steam whistle squealing like a small tea kettle about to explode, like something out of Jules Verne novel. HK Porter Co refered to these as "Light Locomotives" but most folks would call it a "Porter Dinky." The Sespe was built in 1891.
