It's 1929 and passengers have just finished boarding for the trip North to a special late night event at the resort in Brandywine Srings. The line by now is owned by the Baltimore & Philadelphia Railroad, a subsidiary of the B&O Railroad. Hopes to extend the line to Pittsburgh never materialized. Next year, passenger service will end and in the early 40's the line will be truncated at Southwood, and again in the 50's to it's present terminus in Hockessin, DE. The resort too will disappear, but the trains will live on! Fortunately such recreations allow us to travel back through time and experience the fascinating history. Learn more about the W&W here.
