Remarks & Notes
"The Midnight Special" Passengers en route to Pittsburgh, PA ride the W&W seen here just north of Greenbank station, near Wilmington, DE. The train will eventually make it to Landenberg, PA where passengers will transfer to another line which will eventually connect to the PRR at Pomeroy, PA. Management of the railway is hopeful to extend it's reach to Oxford, PA and eventually all the way to Pittsburgh. Only time will tell if such a route is completed to speed passengers along on their journey. Though this engine was originally native to Mississippi and it is unlikely there were midnight runs, the rest of the story holds true. A fascinating historic line, indeed!
