Remarks & Notes
While brilliant fall foliage prevails at Marshfield Station, a quick look up the Cog Railway track shows that with a little elevation, the foliage season is pretty much over. The top of Cold Spring Hill (at top of photo) is just about 1000 vertical feet above the station, but the effect on seasonal change is pretty dramatic. Conditions there are about what the folks at the base will experience 2-3 weeks later in the fall.
