| I had just disembarked from my train at Daban and I was making my way across the tracks towards the MPD. Looking back towards the station, this was my first sight of a double-headed freight with immaculate QJ's in charge. Glorious late afternoon light bathed the pair as they rolled westbound out of Daban yard. There are some railway scenes that will always remain etched in my memory, but few will equal this one. I hope this sequence gives you just a flavour of that momentous departure. |
