| Remarks: On merger day, March 2, 1970, Burlington Northern found itself with a diverse collection of 288 EMD F-Units. Although their numbers declined rapidly during BN's first few years, trains often featured multiple lash-ups of "covered wagons" during that time period. BN F7A 710 is shown leading an ex-NP F9A, F7B, and another F7A, on a freight passing Portland Union Station in 1971. 710 was retired on 12-20-72. |

Kevin...you just keeping bringing the money shots to this site!!! The track that train sits on in this photo, is the outside set of rails left at the station today. The rest of the rails to the right are now condos. |
