| As UP 5653 approaches Ivanpah, the engineer can appreciate the fact that he is halfway up the 1% nearly 30-mile climb to Cima. At this point I'd been watching this train for an hour as he wound towards me, and two other westbounds were visible to me at this point, out of the frame to the left. |
