After an incredibly swift crew change, a westbound ballast train heads under Sierra Avenue. The engine to the right of frame is one of UP's heavyweight SD38-2s, which are teamed with Morrison-Knudson rebuilt SD40M-2s to hump West Colton Yard. The mountain overtaking the background is Mount Baldy. The freeway to the right is Interstate 10, the San Bernardino Freeway, which parallels UP's Alhambra Sub for some miles through here. The ballast train also has a Dash 9-44CW, which is not looking near as spiffy as the Evolution Series leader which was delivered Sept 2007.
