Remarks & Notes
Gloomy weather today as A4 streamliner no.60009 Union of South Africa heads a main line special from Cleethorpes to Chester approaching Newton-Le-Willows. The driver is letting rip on the whistle as you can see from the steam escaping from it in front of the chimney. This is one of a few classes of GB loco with a North American-style chime whistle. US/Canada viewers can imagine the sound as it passes at about 50 mph.
