Remarks & Notes

Double head end with 487 in the lead. The Conductor is discussing orders with the engineer as 487 will cut off the train at Cumbres Pass at 10022 feet. It's Autumn and the Aspen trees are turning and the train full. The train will leave Chama in ten minutes. The trailing Engine 484 was in a wreck as detailed in photo 205304.
