Remarks & Notes

Engine 484 is in the lead and just beginning the decent down Cumbres pass to Osier station for Lunch. Firebox cinders started a trackside fire that will soon be put out by the crew that follows the train. The crew rides in a maintenance car with a 350 gallon water tank. The Forrest Service has been known to suspend train operations in high risk fire conditions.
