Remarks & Notes
Conrail PO87 is in Suffern Yard, passing by the fleet of "Bluebirds," NJDOT owned U34CHs... which power Conrail's commuter runs into Hoboken. Picture is taken from Route 59. The GP15-1s on this train are but weeks old at this point (even though one of them looks pretty filthy). The U34CH's were delivered in two orders (1971 and 1973) and are essentially U36Cs with horsepower bled off to feed the HEP.

There are times when many engines, cars or cabooses are concentrated in a location. Such sites are for storage, economic reasons, active power needs or for rebuilding. For others, wear and tear have brought their usefulness to and end.
