| The CDTX2012 was leading San Joaquin #715 North out of
Bakersfield on July 19, 2007 when it hit an (empty)
gas tanker truck at a grade crossing in Shafter, CA
plugged from full 79mph trackspeed. As usual, the
fiberglass "nosecone" was totaled but the force of the
collision managed to severely dent/damage the welded
solid steel structural nose as shown in the photo. |
