| What I though was a combined Lake Shore Limited and Capitol Limited actually turned out to be the Capitol Limited with Amfleet cars deadheading en route to Seattle to stand in for Talgo cars that have been pulled. Even with the extra weight, Amtrak 29 arrives slightly ahead of schedule into Chicago. Here they are crossing the South Branch of the Chicago River. If you squint, you can see the UP 1988 "Katy" heritage locomotive through the exhaust in the distance (the far right loco sans headlight). |
