Conrail U-Boats wait near R Tower before they begin their run to Lehighton over the old CNJ Lehigh and Susquehanna Division. Units were a U33B, U30B and U25B. #2896 was delivered to the Penn Central in December of 1968, and was one of 83 that they rostered. This train ran from Oak Island, NJ to Niagara Falls, NY with set offs and pick ups at South Plainfeild, Allenton, Pittiston and Sayre. It was scheduled to leave here at 1:45p.
