The Alaska Railroad Glacier Discovery Train winds its way north along the Turnagain Arm, with the imposing Chugach Mountains in the background. A small tidal bore, very common in the Turnagain Arm where the variance between high and low tide is sometimes as much as 37 feet, is clearly visible in the lower portion of the frame.
I've been fortunate to have spent quite some time in the "Great White North" photographing trains on the super-scenic, and always friendly, Alaska Railroad. Here's a collection of some of my favorite shots from our 49th state.
