| Amtrak's San Francisco Zephyr is East of Colfax crossing Long Ravine Trestle. #8982 had been added at Roseville for the run over Donner Pass and the hose carrying the air signal line can be seen on the unit's walkway. The mixed consist includes one of SP's home-built dome cars as the railroad insisted they were the only one safe on the hill due to clearence issues. Interstate 80 runs directly underneath this bridge as once did the Nevada County Narrow Gauge until its abandonment in 1942. |
