| Signs of electrification are still present into 2007 some 30+ years after the last electric ran on the ex-PRR line. Two of the seven SD45's still rostered by eastern Class I railroads sit in Browns Yard shortly after sunset. NS 1700 and 1701 sit under the yard lights awaiting their turn up the Amboy Secondary, NJT North Jersey Coast Line, and Chemical Coast to Oak Island. NS 1700 and 1701 were originally built as EL 3669 (CR 6654) and EL 3670 (CR 6655) in 11/1972. Photo taken on RR property with permission. |
