Great day for a run through the canyon. The Ayer turn is heading back to the Tri Cities. It was a quick trip this time, took them less than an hour to get back here.
The last train until midnight is a mixed unit heading southwest to the Tri Cities area. DPU UP 5504 is at the end.

A mixed freight is coming off the north end of the Oregon Trunk and is about a mile from crossing over the Columbia River into Washington. UP also in the shot below on the Portland Sub.

South bound local heading back to Salem. Mt Saint Helens can be seen to the left and Mt Adams is in line with the track at this location.
Late morning mixed south bound is making it's way over the north trestle into tunnel 2 and back out onto the south trestle.
Northbound Amtrak is accelerating into to the high speed curve as some February snow starts to move in.
