P34 begins shoving on the rear of 748 all the way to Ridgecrest which is 15 miles east. The track to the right is the W line to Spartanburg SC which traverses the famed Saluda grade.
The head end power of 748 decends the loops around Andrews Geyser near Old Fort NC. This train had helper power all the way from Asheville NC to Old Fort NC.
