Helper set 9371 waits for the SP 8270 west to come through the siding before continuing east to help another train up the east slope of Beaumont Hill in December 1985.
Four cabooses sit at the UP Yermo Yard. Two from the WP, one from MP and one SP. After the merger, foreign cabooses began showing up all over the UP system.
The UP Colton Switcher has MP units 2012 and 2036 on the spur track next to the SP mainline at Colton.

SF 8020 leads a heavy manifest train up the east slope of Cajon Pass at Lugo.

SP 9192 east leads a West Colton-Houston manifest past the Redlands crossover as it begin the clim up Beaumont Hill on a clear November morning.
Rock Island units 388, 394, 385 and MP 2035 are at SF Colton waiting to go to the Chrome Crankshaft plant in 1985.
SP 7245 leads three other units including merger 7672. The units will back up onto it's train and head west to Los Angeles by taking the balloon track at Pepper street overpass.
