Remarks: Filthy from running through the areas of swamp and marsh land on the Gold Coast Line, 100 Series IMU 106/105 power through Zillmere on the Northern Line with CityTrain #T403 to Cooroy. QRNetwork Policy states any train operating north of Caboolture must be fitted with Automatic Train Protection (ATP) or have two Train Drivers in the cab. As InterCity Express (ICE) Units are the only trains in QR CityTrain fitted with ATP, a second driver will join this service at Caboolture.
Remarks: Running a few minutes late, the two Train Drivers give a friendly wave as Electric Tilt Train 301/302 City of Maryborough eases along the down mainline through Zillmere on the Caboolture Line. This service is worked by Train Crew from the Bundaberg Depot. An agreement was made many years ago that Train Drivers could work up to eleven hours in pairs. As such they drive Tilt Train #Q914 from Bundaberg to Brisbane and thence Tilt Train #Q301 from Brisbane to Bundaberg, a distance of approximately 700km (or 438mi), in one shift.
