Remarks: This chase of an IC&E Russell Plow on the Jackson Sub was every bit as good as the symbol assigned to it - WOW-29, short for Work train OWatonna Sub. This train began on the Owatonna sub out of Mason City and ended up on the Jackson Sub. Propulsion for IC&E plow 100251 is being provided by a pair of Blue & Yellow SD40s.
Remarks: To facilitate a meet at Hawarden, this empty stone train has pulled up the former C&NW branch to Beresford, SD, to clear of the main line so that the ethanol local can head for Sioux City. The train of 25 empty mill gons is powered by D&I's pair of former Southern Pacific SD39s.
Remarks: As the sun sets rapidly, a northbound UP freight is just getting underway after meeting a loaded grain train at the 10,800 foot long passing siding at Carnes, Iowa.
