Remarks: 9001/9002 negotiate the undulating profile of the long spur between Hazelton and Prosperity Mine, which is roughly midpoint between Hazelton and Petersburg as you view a map. Despite the INRD equipment this train uses CSX crews and rails for most of its trip.

Remarks: Technically I am in Illinois while the train is in West Dana... Empties roll west on the former B&O Springfield Line. This is the only train that uses these rails, but I'll catch it again the next day after it loads up with coal from the Vermillion Grove mine.

Remarks: The Chrisman Shuffle begins as V500 arrives in Chrisman on the former NYC Egyptian Line, having loaded at the Vermillion Grove mine to the north. The train passes NYC signals and clumps over former B&O rails that it will soon be on after shoving through the connection.

Remarks: IPL empties on final approach to the new loadout at Carlisle. Once there, within the next hour, 9002 will have several tons of coal dumped on it, much of it going down the stack. We won't be seeing 9002 in action again for a while!
