This tunnel is a relic of "La Petite Ceinture", a railway which went around Paris. Built from 1852, and ended in 1869, this railway interrupts its traffic in July, 1934.
This bridge was used by steam trains between 1882 and 1957, year of the closing down of the railway line Le Port - Saint-Pierre.
