Remarks: It may look like this lead engine on a loaded coal train is speeding by, but in reality he's going around 30 mph in front of this interesting and attractive railroad cut.
Remarks: At about two hours late at this location, the westbound California Zephyr won't make much time before Glenwood Springs as it negotiates the confines of Glenwood Canyon. Three private cars make up the rear of the train.
Remarks: Hulcher crews are busy cleaning up the aftermath of a derailment involving both UP and BNSF. Reports have a westbound BNSF rear ending a UP empty coal train between the Yarmony west switch and State Bridge, just outside of Bond. Special thanks to TME for the heads-up.
Remarks: Amtrak's WB California Zephyr climbs past Clay siding as a UP loaded coal train restarts its journey downhill to Denver at Rocky siding. Both trains are roughly 1.5 to 2 miles apart at this point.
