Sitting outside the DGRC maintenance facility on Hill AFB with US Army 1647 which ran into a locked gate a few weeks ago.

The tall and short of it. The Army bought them and the Army doesn't want them. Numbers 6000, 6001 & 6002 are now sitting on the ground, they have been stripped of all useful parts and what is left... (more)

Basking in the last light of the day in the old D&RGW transfer yard at Ogden. Notice the broom leaning against the front of the cab to sweep any snow that might fall.

Going under the Pennsylvania Ave. overpass just west of the Ogden Utah yard. Looks like they had a special guest in the cab playing the part of the engineer.

Has been sitting at this location for at least the last 3 years.

Alco S1 b/n 69680 Blt. 2/42 now US Navy 65-00626 under its own power and looking better than ever. Still has a few pieces of paper and tape to be removed but how often do you see a 74 year old loc... (more)
