Remarks: Montreal built # 1970 waits in Gaia Yard for a decision on whether it be needed to take over from ailing classmate 1971 on a PTG tour. In the event 1971 was fixed and carried on. 13 of these locos were built for CP in 1979, but only 12 are still in traffic, 1961 being destroyed in an accident in 1985.

Remarks: Railfanning on the beach? Not quite, as 1905 sits at the dock gates between Fontela and Figueira da Foz on a photo stop whilst working PTG Tours "Annual Reunion" trip. We were unable to access the dock area itself due to another train being parked just behind the photographer.

Remarks: 1455 in the shadow of the Ponte de 25th April bridge with PTG Tours "Annual Reunion". The bridge has two tiers, road on the top and the rail line to the south of the country underneath on which a "Fertagus" double deck unit can just be seen heading towards the south bank of the river Tagus. Unfortunately, we were not lucky enough to have a train pass on the Cascais line on the other side of the road at the same time as well.

Remarks: The RhB is full of interest and runs through some fantastic scenery, but one of my favourite bits is the street running from Chur at the start of the Arosabahn. A pair of Ge4/4iis trundle along the main road with a long train in readiness for the returning day-trippers from the popular resort of Arosa. The double track is relatively recent, presumably put in to keep the trains on the same side of the road as the cars.
