A time-worn veteran of the rails rests on a cloudy evening in Toccoa, GA. The unit was built as PC 7874 in January of 1971. Here, 41 years later, the unit earns its keep on the Hartwell Railroad.

Former Southern Railway GP30 2594 working now for the Hartwell leads a cut of cars north. Today she resides in her original Southern paint at the Tennessee Valley Railway Museum.

The HRT can really be a museum unto itself. These two items are at the shop in Airline, but locked behind lengthy cuts of storage cars leading to the mainline.
