Water stop at Embatkala. After the severe climb from Ghinda, the locomotive needs some liquid. This is apparently also the case for this local donkey.
The Mallet 440#008 is performing some shunting between the Asmara workshops and the yard.
In the last evening light our mixed train is passing over one of the numerous beautiful viaducts on the line between Baresa and Ghinda.
A women and her three kids have been attracted along the railway line by the steam train storming through her village.
The train is storming through the village of Damas on its way to Nefasit.
The Littorina railcar #2 built by Fiat in Italy has left Nefasit a few minutes ago and is attacking the severe climb up to Asmara.
In a few minutes and one more tunnel to pass, the short freight train will arrive at the Shegereni station. From there, it will continue its climb to Asmara.
