Another NS detour the next day came in the form of manifest 16M, seen heading west down the Lurgan Branch with one of the few remaining ex-Conrail SD50s in the consist.

NS unit autorack train 274 heads west, under the main road that leads to Messiah College on a late August afternoon. This train was detoured this way for reasons still unknown.

NS train 38G moves slowly westward through a speed restriction between MP 27 and CP Alburtis due to tie gangs working on the second track. A horsehead SD60 leads a Dash-8 and a GP40-2.

After stopping in Bowers due to bad air pressure through the train, 34A is now back on the move, crawling westward through Lyons, PA under a predominatly cloudy fall sky.
