C&IM 81 makes a run down the UP's Peoria Sub. The 81 is the last unit still in the Chicago & Illinois Midland paint scheme on the Illinois Midland Railroad roster.

The engineer (profiled in photo) awaits his next move in this Iowa Interstate - TZPR meet. Note the perfect paint and C&IM logo more than 10 years after the C&IM name has ceased to exist.

Even faded, the CIM paint scheme is a nice combination of colors that roam the Illinois River valley no more.
