Once tough and proud sentry of the Preque Isle docks, one of the tough guys now sits in vain waiting for another call at the Eagle Mills shop.
Sad lite engine move, as these have just cut off the Hill Job at the AEI scanner and are running lite back to the shop. A 3 unit set of "new" ex BN U30Cs will replace them and bring the train in.... (more)
Don't know what's the main attraction; the U23Cs on the Dock Job still surviving, or the smoke show after every throttle-up placing each ore car over the proper dumper on the dock!
The class unit of a group of 9 U23Cs leads an eastbound freight under the EJ&E Bridge. The Burlington Route bought these locomotives in April 1969 and had them delivered in the 'pre-merger' schem... (more)
