Shay 9 crossing bridge

At the end of the day Shay 9 takes on fuel oil behind the line's small water tank.

On a rainy afternoon, former West Side Lumber Shay 9 runs around her train preparing for another trip up the hill as the Devil's Gate trestles looms in the background.

After a day of overseeing many fully loaded trains of tourists up and down "the Loop," the conductor heads for home at the end of the day.
