Its a pleasant, clear night for an extended station stop just on the north side of the Oregon/California border. In a few minutes, the passengers will head back inside to continue their journey.

Amtrak 11 works its way around several curves as it approaches the east entrance of Tunnel 10. Tunnel 10 was routed around, and has since had numerous cave ins.

After arriving in Oakland CA, the Grand Luxe Express turns it's equipment by making a trip down the Niles Sub to Newark and then back up to Oakland on the Coast Sub.

Northbound Coast Starlight

114 is usually assigned to the Coast Starlight but lately has been making the rounds on the Capitol Corridor. Here she sits waiting to become the first Eastbound train of the day.

An extra section of the Coast Starlight with a Horizon car trainset heading back towards Los Angles. On Memorial Day, Amtrak had use this trainset to operate the northbound #14 Coast Starlight.
