A mixed train passes the South Seattle Intermodal Facility on a rainy night around 11pm

The 004 takes a break in south Portland.

Stan holds on to the ladder of the '04 while he concentrates on the road ahead.

Its a sunny day, low tide, and a late Amtrak. BNSF 4917 hides in the bushes and creeps towards the photographer JUST out of view. All is right in the little town by the Sound.

Heading south along MLK, shiny new LRV's mingle with cars at a reasonable pace of 35mph. Testing is nearing completion as the July 18th opening day creeps near.

All action has come to a stop near the summit. Some water valve tripped on 6304 and sent the entire train into emergency. A few seconds earlier, 6304 and 4204 were working hard in run-8 to pull it... (more)

I thought these B40-8s disappeared off the face of the earth... Anyways, it and some other oldies yank a V train up Stevens Pass.

Both of these trains mean business. A hot intermodal train full of imports meets a train loaded with wheat for export.
