After stalling just east of switch 9, the eastbound auto got a push by the overpowered z-train, here the auto makes the approach to Shed 10

A bright sunny day with a brilliant coat of snow highlights this eastbound auto train headed towards Donner summit

Curving its way downgrade on the west side of Donner pass on the approach to Shed 10. What a hike for me!

Having passed through tunnel #3, and by daylighted tunnel #4, BN 9287 leads this "southbound through Cliff.

BNSF 4540 stops just outside of tunnel #2, as a westbound holds the siding. In the distance a set of helpers works to get a stalled train on the move again.
