Returning to Portland on a crisp Central Oregon fall morning.

In the Deschutes Eiver Canyon.

The SP4449 throttles up over the Willow Creek Trestle for a photo run-by opportunity for it's passengers during it's sold out excursion to Bend and back on it's way back to Portland.

While most of the other chasers chose to shoot the valley floor. I climbed up on the rocks to get this shot. Between Gateway and South Junction,

Climbing the 1.5% grade from South Junction to Madras with just "some" help from the assisting Amtrak P42.

Just starting it's return trip from Bend to Portland, OR. Freezing a.m. temps resulted in lots of steam!
