The UP Yard is full of power on Easter morning as over 50 engines wait for either service or assignments.
Not in Kansas any more. A lone Kansas visitor- KCS 3914 (SD70MAC)- is spotted in the BNSF engine shop yard in Denver.
Form follows function. The shapes of the two engines - BNSF 1929 (SD40-2) and AMTK 147 (P42DC) - indicate their purpose.....one to pull freight and one to speed passengers across the country.
