DME train 171 has been called in the afternoon at Marquette, IA lately allowing for late afternoon photo opportunities along the Marquette Subdivision.

It's not blue and yellow, but at least the leader is an EMD!

G69 (La Crosse, WI - Winona, MN) heads north past Dakota. The trailing two engines and most of the cars will be set-out at Winona before heading into the UP's yard in Winona.

Love the railroad, hate the lead engine. Please either repaint these untis or have them trail only!

171 negotiates the S-curve south of LaCrescent, MN. Within minutes the conductor will ring up the CP dispatcher and ask permission into the LaCrescent Yard.

171 rolls north through the Reno Bottoms. June is the time to shoot here. It won't be long before the lily pads will die and turn brown, ruining this shot location.
