10 of NS' SD80MACS head east through Portage back to South Fork after being serviced at Cresson

There was some color to be seen on the West Slope in mid October, but 2008 seems to have been a much better year for fall foliage.

A surprise catch of 6 SD80MACs headed toward Cresson for servicing. After passing by Altoona and seeing the many engines in storage including some 80MACs it was good to catch some on the mainline.... (more)

Looking west train 64J is barely visible as a whirlwind of snow obscures the rest of the train as it moves at track speed eastbound.
