The 442-54 is an Italian compound Mallet locomotive built by Ansaldo in Genova in 1938.

The Mallet 442-54 hauling a short freight train has left the Nefasit station a few minutes ago. After a 180 degree turn the train is seen on the opposite side of the village on its way to Asmara.

The Fiat Littorina railcar has just left the Nefasit station and is now starting the steep climb to its final destination Asmara.
