Southbound dropping down off the Gateway Sub on the approach towards Keddie.

Leaving BNSF's Gateway Sub, this manifest crosses the Keddie Wye as it starts it's trek west on UP's Canyon Sub, beggining it's decent down the Feather River Canyon.

Just trying to get a different angle on a very famous location in the Canyon. Instead of the barns I picked the cattails. A very slow day on the Canyon Sub.

A southbound BNSF train on the Gateway Sub approaches the junction with the UP at Keddie. It will use trackage rights on the UP from Keddie to Stockton.

#3021 has just gotten a clear signal after being in the hole for a Westbound freight at Spring Garden and is now heading East.

I was lucky to catch the WP heritage-liveried 1983; earlier on that day I also saw the UP centennial 6936 at Portola which was to cross the Wye on July 4th.
