Part of a string of power awaiting assignment at the home of the old Interstate Railroad. These days the place is far less busy and a four-axle is very rare.

Norfolk Southern local has come out from Winston to deliver interchange to the Yadkin Valley Railroad. The trim little station still has the sign from its Southern Railway days.

Back when NS felt 4-axles were needed in the backwoods a large string are bringing in this mine run. Built with a tiny tank, these units got more fuel capacity from retired SD35s.

Southern GP38 2754 and GP38AC wait for their next assignment at Oneida Tennessee. The 2754 was built in October 1969 while the 2869 in August 1971.
