An early morning sky silhouettes the 204 as it departs Tubarao with empties for the Lauro Mueller mine. EFDTC had three 2-6-6-2's for the steeply graded Lauro Mueller branch.

I wonder if the three 2-6-6-2's built for the EFDTC in 1950 were the last articulateds built by Baldwin. I also find it curious that they had American style class lights.

C&O #1309 was built at the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1949. Number 1309 is a true Mallet in that it is both articulated and has high and low-pressure cylinders. This piece of history is now on di... (more)

On a mild night in August, routine maintenance is performed on C&O 1308 in the yard at Huntington. Lighting provided by the MSRLHA and Walter Scriptunas II.
