Except for the bird droppings, DM&IR 506 looks like it's in relatively good condition. Wouldn't it be great to see this 2-10-2 under steam again?

What appears to be an abandoned locomotive on some obscure branch line is, in reality, the back lot of the National Railroad Museum. 38A is just a shell, and is currently for sale.

I suspect that the complexity of a Big Boy's controls might prove a little confusing for the uninitiated!

LS&I No. 24 looking *sharp* in fresh paint at the National Railroad Museum. This locomotive was operational into the mid-1970s and once gave rides around the museum's loop track.
