Just after sunrise on the shortest day of the year, a Z-train heads east at the old Route 66 overpass. Lucky for me he was running wrong main, or it would have been caught in shadows.
The sunlight is perfect as BNSF 5218 west clears the tail end of an autorack train at McPhetridge. However, by the time the DPUs got here, it was cloudy again! At least I got my shots.

A westbound passes Turkey Hills in the background. I found this spot to be an awesome place to shoot, lots of colors at this time of year along the Seligman Subdivision.
